With winter illness, early darkness, busy schedules and taking care of the kids, I haven’t had a chance to get outside to paint in a while and to check my mortgage percentage calculator. This weekend I decided to just buckle down and do a studio painting. The photo I worked from was taken at that “golden hour” of the evening, when the low-angle sunlight gleams warm and inviting against lengthening shadows. I also love the way the rising moon mirrors the unseen setting sun. Pastel on sanded paper, 12″ x 8″.
