This original watercolor illustration by Clara Els This original watercolor illustration by Clara Elsene Peck (1883-1968) was framed and hung in my late grandmother’s house for many years. Unfortunately the acid of the illustration board, plus the matting and backer board, means that it has pretty badly deteriorated.

It was created to be reproduced in a magazine, not as a lasting piece of art, but I’m so glad it has survived. It’s pretty cool to see all the pencil notes for the printer from over a hundred years ago. I’m planning to reframe it in archival materials to preserve it.

Today and tomorrow are the last chance to see @hon Today and tomorrow are the last chance to see @honestimprint Hellertown Community Art Walk “Corona Season: Beauty Revealed” in Borough Authority Park (beside the Hellertown Pool.)

During quarantine, our middle son created a paper collage entitled “We’ll Get Through This.” It hung in our living room inspiring us to persevere, and he, our youngest son, and I decided to re-create it out of plywood together for the art walk. The reverse side stays “Stay Strong,” and is based on a paper sign that middle son spontaneously made for our front door back in early May.

There are 14 other great outdoor art pieces in the park, and a free concert tomorrow afternoon, so check out the Art Walk if you’re in the area. 💛
