I did a little watercolor while on a retreat at Spruce Lake this weekend. It was still chilly (I was painting in my knee-length down jacket), but so nice to be able to paint outside.
I tried Ampersand Aquabord for the first time, and really liked it. It’s a clay surface on board — you can wipe away color and add glazes, and the surface stays fresh instead of disintegrating like a paper would. The ability to pull out light areas definitely made it easier to quickly organize the values of the dappled sunshine in the woods.
