A timeless and oft-repeated theme is the subject for this piece: the Nativity. I wanted to avoid a cutesy or cliché rendering, instead trying to emphasize the humanity and youth of the characters even while using symbols (the Bethlehem Star and a newborn Lamb) that allude to the deeper meaning of the scene.
